I guess if you've come to this page you must want to know a bit about me, so here's some stuff:
- I'm Multimedia Librarian for the Borough of South Tyneside, in charge of the Sight and Sound department in South Shields Central Library and as such responsible for the best collection of CDs and DVDs in the region (okay so I'm biased!). I get to work with music playing loudly in the background, but I'm usually too busy to actually have chance to listen to it.
- I have degrees in Theology (BA Hons, Hull 1987) and Librarianship (MA Newcastle Poly 1989). Theologically I'm very much a charismatic evangelical. My main specialism is early church history and Greek Patristics (hence "Hesychast" in my e-mail address), though I'm also very interested in the revival movements of the 17th to 19th centuries (see my Revival Page).
- I have played piano and keyboards in a number of different churches in Gateshead, and am the musical director for Beit Yeshua - the North-East Messianic Fellowship. I've been involved in praise and worship for over 20 years. I played keyboards once or twice a week for around 18 months during the renewal at Sunderland Christian Centre. I write choruses, but you probably don't sing them (however see my Music Page). I worked for a number of years with the Christian singer/songwriter David Eastman, engineering most of the demos for his album "Hands of God". In the dim and distant past I also did a fair bit of DJ'ing and radio presenting.
- In the past few years I have added designing web pages to the list of things which keep me from having any free time! I have put together a range of sites and pages covering my varied interests and organizations I am involved with.
