Angels with a Message
The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever.
Then I saw another angel flying in mid-air, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth - to every nation, tribe, language and people.
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star. (The Bible: Revelation 11:15; 14:6; 22:1,16)
The message that the angels in the book of Revelation had to proclaim is that the God who created and keeps the Universe loves you in a personal way, wants to make himself known to you, and has a wonderful purpose for your life. If he were not big enough to be able to relate to you personally, he would be less than the all-mighty God. But the message is that "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
Despite all mankinds efforts and cleverness, we are basically imperfect beings who fall far short of the standard of perfection that would give us any right to have any kind of personal relationship with a pure and holy God. There is a great gulf that separates us from God, that prevents us from experiencing God's love, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)

Mankind is continually trying to reach God and find spiritual significance through his own efforts, such as striving to live a good life, following particular philosophies or religions, or through New Age practices, etc. However, nothing from our side of the gulf, not even a giant angel made with human hands, could possibly bridge such a gap!

The true message of the angels is, however, that God himself has already made special provision to bridge that gulf which separates us from Him by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins.

Through Jesus Christ you can indeed know and experience God's love and plan for your life. This is possible because:
- God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
(Romans 5:8)
- Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures
was buried
raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time
(1 Corinthians 15:3-6)
- Jesus said I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)
The only way we can know and experience Gods love and plan for our lives is to individually invite Jesus Christ to come into our lives and be our Saviour and Lord. He will not force his way into your life - he leaves it to you to respond personally to his personal offer for your life: Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)
The choice you make will have eternal consequences.
