There are so many music related web sites on the internet that it would be impossible to list them all, and not really very helpful to do so either. I have tried to compile a list of the most useful general sites in a number of areas. In most areas I have avoided sites relating to a specific group, publisher or opera company, and instead given sites which would provide links to these where needed.

I have to admit that even though this is quite a large list, I rarely use the majority of sites. I have found by experience that most music related information can usually be traced by starting with either Artist Direct or the All Music Guide.

The World Wide Web is still expanding and changing, and this list will inevitably date pretty quickly. I will endeavour to keep up with significant new resources, changing URLs and sites ceasing to exist.
